About the Organization and Opportunity
Organization: The mission of Connecting for Children and Families is to serve Woonsocket and Northern Rhode Island by providing family-centered programs and educational opportunities that empower children, families, and individuals to thrive and succeed.
Opportunity CCF will host an eight-week after-school session in the winter, fall and spring that will be comprised of career exploration and work readiness activities facilitated through our Explore the Job curriculum for students in grades six-eight. They also offer a ‘Rock the Job’ program for 14-year-olds looking to prepare for summer employment and an ‘Explore the Job’ program which is an introduction to careers and delivers work readiness skills. Through energetic games and activities, we will practice essential skills such as listening, respect, patience negotiation, and teamwork.
Note: These programs are offered to middle school students at Hamlet and Villa Nova Middle Schools in Woonsocket.
Stipend/Incentive/Wages Earned: $100 stipend upon completion.
