DownCity Discovery

Organization: DownCity Design is a community organization working to build a city of problem solvers. We empower students, educators, and community members to use design skills to improve the places where they live, work, and play.

Opportunity: Are you interested in design, construction, or architecture? Join us for a fun introduction to the process that designers use to make the world a better place. In this free after-school studio, students will partner with a community client to design and build a structure that solves a real-life challenge! Through hands-on design challenges, students will learn to sketch, model and collaborate as they design something new, then learn how to use power tools to bring their vision to life! No prior skills necessary, we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
